Full Moon Hawthorn

2003

SD FMH

The photography shows the night sky with the full moon with a tree in the foreground. The image is landscape. The photo is taken at night probably in a rural area. The tree and the moon are the significant objects.

At the time the photo was taken the Iraq war was starting. It is nuclear where this photo was taken. Her inspiration was early careless photography, she started looking into this while she was in university.

The tree is slightly positioned slightly to the right side of the frame. The subject doesn’t fill the frame. The light creates positive space. The moon is the only light and because it is behind the tree it makes it show up as negative space.

The tone of the image is cold and mysterious. The colours and tones are quite muted. This makes the light the vibrant part

Forgotten promise

2012

JU FP

Looks like a faded man standing a cliff in front of a tornado even though the sky appears clear. The style is abstract and Landscape. The photo looks to have been taken in the day time in a probably rural area.

In the year this was taken it was the summer 2012 Olympic games and the US presidential elections. His inspirations are early photographers such as Oscar Rejlander and Henry Peach Robinson.

The tornado and the man are central to the landscape. The element doesn’t fill the frame. It would have been taken with a wide angle shot because it’s a landscape. Foreground is the rocks and the faded man and the mid ground is the woodland and the background is the sky.

Lighting appears to be natural sunlight. It’s a black and white image and it’s hard to tell what settings were used.
